MindanaoHerald | Senator promises that Davao’s SPMC will have enough money | DAVAO CITY – Senator Christopher Lawrence Go, who was born in this city, promised that the Southern Philippines Medical Centre (SPMC) will get enough money in 2024 to help poor and underserved patients in Mindanao.

This year, the government gave SPMC, which has nearly 1,500 beds and is the biggest hospital run by the Department of Health, a total of PHP4.0953 billion for staffing and running costs.

It is also proud of being a speciality hospital that is just as good as the big hospitals in the National Capital Region.

“They have already proposed the budget for 2024, and you can rest assured that I will support it (allocation for SPMC),” Go said in his speech Friday, when employees with 20 to 40 years of service were given awards for their work.

“A lot of people from outside of Davao come to SPMC to get help with their health. I will help the poor patients in any way I can, and I will back the hospital’s budget proposal,” he said.

He also praised the hard work of the people who work for the SPMC and help the public.

“This event is more than just a service awards ceremony; it’s a celebration of passion, dedication, and unwavering service to the Filipino people. “Your work has helped many people and families for a long time to come,” he said.

He told them to continue to be an example to others, share their knowledge, and teach younger people about health care.

“Remember that your legacy will live on in these walls and in the hearts of the people you have helped,” Go said.(via PNA)
